The 2012 East Cobber Parade and Festival is on September 15th and the Backyard Chickens Alliance is happy to be a part of it again this year! Come support the Backyard Chickens Alliance by marching in the Parade and participating in the Festival-
The Parade starts at 10am and runs one mile south from Princeton Lakes Drive to Fountains of Olde Towne Shopping Center, 736 Johnson Ferry Road. 10 thousand or more people enjoy this children friendly parade each year. The Backyard Chicken Alliance will be proud to have the Chicken Whisperer, Andy Schneider, as our Guest of Honor in the Parade! He will ride in a truck that will be decorated in banners with one of our members dressed as a chicken. The rest of us will march, carrying signs that support Backyard Chickens. The more people that we have, the better it will be. Kids are welcome to march in the parade with us. Please, all marchers should wear yellow shirts. Signs will be provided.
We have been assigned to Row: E Space(s): 19 & 20. Check-in time is: 8:45 A.M.
Parade Route: Parade travels one mile south from Princeton Lakes Drive to Fountains of Olde Towne Shopping Center, 736 Johnson Ferry Road.
In addition to the entertainment stage, arts & crafts exhibits and carnival games, the Festival is a venue for local civic groups, churches, synagogues, and other non-profits to raise awareness about their organizations’ contributions to East Cobb County. The hours are from 11am to 3pm. The Backyard Chickens Alliance will have a booth there to hand out information and gather signatures for our petition drive. Andy Schneider, the Chicken Whisperer, will also be there. We will have coloring sheets for the kids and small animals for everyone to play with.
